1بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلصَّٰٓفَّٰتِ صَفًّۭا

Translations

(इबादत या जिहाद में) पर बाँधने वालों की (क़सम)

Wassaaaffaati saffaa

By those [angels] lined up in rows

2فَٱلزَّٰجِرَٰتِ زَجْرًۭا

Translations

फिर (बदों को बुराई से) झिड़क कर डाँटने वाले की (क़सम)

Fazzaajiraati zajraa

And those who drive [the clouds]

3فَٱلتَّٰلِيَٰتِ ذِكْرًا

Translations

फिर कुरान पढ़ने वालों की क़सम है

Fattaaliyaati Zikra

And those who recite the message,

4إِنَّ إِلَٰهَكُمْ لَوَٰحِدٌۭ

Translations

तुम्हारा माबूद (यक़ीनी) एक ही है

Inna Illaahakum la Waahid

Indeed, your God is One,

5رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَشَٰرِقِ

Translations

जो सारे आसमान ज़मीन का और जो कुछ इन दोनों के दरमियान है (सबका) परवरदिगार है

Rabbus samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumaa wa Rabbul mashaariq

Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises.

6إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِزِينَةٍ ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ

Translations

और (चाँद सूरज तारे के) तुलूउ व (गुरूब) के मक़ामात का भी मालिक है हम ही ने नीचे वाले आसमान को तारों की आरइश (जगमगाहट) से आरास्ता किया

Innaa zaiyannas samaaa 'ad dunyaa bizeenatinil kawaakib

Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars

7وَحِفْظًۭا مِّن كُلِّ شَيْطَٰنٍۢ مَّارِدٍۢ

Translations

और (तारों को) हर सरकश शैतान से हिफ़ाज़त के वास्ते (भी पैदा किया)

Wa hifzam min kulli Shaitaanim maarid

And as protection against every rebellious devil

8لَّا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَإِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٍۢ

Translations

कि अब शैतान आलमे बाला की तरफ़ कान भी नहीं लगा सकते और (जहाँ सुन गुन लेना चाहा तो) हर तरफ़ से खदेड़ने के लिए शहाब फेके जाते हैं

Laa yassamma 'oona ilal mala il a'alaa wa yuqzafoona min kulli jaanib

[So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side,

9دُحُورًۭا ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌۭ وَاصِبٌ

Translations

और उनके लिए पाएदार अज़ाब है

Duhooranw wa lahum 'azaabunw waasib

Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment,

10إِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ ٱلْخَطْفَةَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌۭ ثَاقِبٌۭ

Translations

मगर जो (शैतान शाज़ व नादिर फरिश्तों की) कोई बात उचक ले भागता है तो आग का दहकता हुआ तीर उसका पीछा करता है

Illaa man khatifal khatfata fa atba'ahoo shihaabun saaqib

Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness].

11فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَهُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَم مَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ ۚ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُم مِّن طِينٍۢ لَّازِبٍۭ

Translations

तो (ऐ रसूल) तुम उनसे पूछो तो कि उनका पैदा करना ज्यादा दुश्वार है या उन (मज़कूरा) चीज़ों का जिनको हमने पैदा किया हमने तो उन लोगों को लसदार मिट्टी से पैदा किया

Fastaftihim ahum ashaddu khalqan am man khalaqnaa; innaa khalaqnaahum min teenil laazib

Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay.

12بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُونَ

Translations

बल्कि तुम (उन कुफ्फ़ार के इन्कार पर) ताज्जुब करते हो और वह लोग (तुमसे) मसख़रापन करते हैं

Bal'ajibta wa yaskharoon

But you wonder, while they mock,

13وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ لَا يَذْكُرُونَ

Translations

और जब उन्हें समझाया जाता है तो समझते नहीं हैं

Wa izaa zukkiroo laa yazkuroon

And when they are reminded, they remember not.

14وَإِذَا رَأَوْا۟ ءَايَةًۭ يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ

Translations

और जब किसी मौजिजे क़ो देखते हैं तो (उससे) मसख़रापन करते हैं

Wa izaa ra aw Aayatinw yastaskhiroon

And when they see a sign, they ridicule

15وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌۭ مُّبِينٌ

Translations

और कहते हैं कि ये तो बस खुला हुआ जादू है

Wa qaalooo in haazaa illaa sihrum mubeen

And say, "This is not but obvious magic.

16أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًۭا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ

Translations

भला जब हम मर जाएँगे और ख़ाक और हड्डियाँ रह जाएँगे

'A-izaa mitnaa wa kunnaa turaabanw wa 'izaaman 'ainnaa lamab'oosoon

When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?

17أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ

Translations

तो क्या हम या हमारे अगले बाप दादा फिर दोबारा क़ब्रों से उठा खड़े किए जाँएगे

Awa aabaa'unal awwaloon

And our forefathers [as well]?"

18قُلْ نَعَمْ وَأَنتُمْ دَٰخِرُونَ

Translations

(ऐ रसूल) तुम कह दो कि हाँ (ज़रूर उठाए जाओगे)

Qul na'am wa antum daakhiroon

Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible."

19فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌۭ وَٰحِدَةٌۭ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَنظُرُونَ

Translations

और तुम ज़लील होगे और वह (क़यामत) तो एक ललकार होगी फिर तो वह लोग फ़ौरन ही (ऑंखे फाड़-फाड़ के) देखने लगेंगे

Fa innamaa hiya zajra tunw waahidatun fa izaa hum yanzuroon

It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing.

20وَقَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَا هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ

Translations

और कहेंगे हाए अफसोस ये तो क़यामत का दिन है

Qa qaaloo yaa wailanaa haazaa Yawmud-Deen

They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense."

21هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ

Translations

(जवाब आएगा) ये वही फैसले का दिन है जिसको तुम लोग (दुनिया में) झूठ समझते थे

Haazaa Yawmul Faslil lazee kuntum bihee tukaziboon

[They will be told], "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny."

22۞ ٱحْشُرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَأَزْوَٰجَهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْبُدُونَ

Translations

(और फ़रिश्तों को हुक्म होगा कि) जो लोग (दुनिया में) सरकशी करते थे उनको और उनके साथियों को और खुदा को छोड़कर जिनकी परसतिश करते हैं

Uhshurul lazeena zalamoo wa azwaajahum wa maa kaanoo ya'budoon

[The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship

23مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهْدُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

Translations

उनको (सबको) इकट्ठा करो फिर उन्हें जहन्नुम की राह दिखाओ

Min doonil laahi fahdoohum ilaa siraatil Jaheem

Other than Allah, and guide them to the path of Hellfire

24وَقِفُوهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُم مَّسْـُٔولُونَ

Translations

और (हाँ ज़रा) उन्हें ठहराओ तो उनसे कुछ पूछना है

Wa qifoohum innahum mas'ooloon

And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned."

25مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ

Translations

(अरे कमबख्तों) अब तुम्हें क्या होगा कि एक दूसरे की मदद नहीं करते

Maa lakum laa tanaasaroon

[They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?"

26بَلْ هُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ مُسْتَسْلِمُونَ

Translations

(जवाब क्या देंगे) बल्कि वह तो आज गर्दन झुकाए हुए हैं

Bal humul Yawma mustaslimoon

But they, that Day, are in surrender.

27وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ

Translations

और एक दूसरे की तरफ मुतावज्जे होकर बाहम पूछताछ करेंगे

Wa aqbala ba'duhum 'alaa ba'diny yatasaaa'aloon

And they will approach one another blaming each other.

28قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَأْتُونَنَا عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ

Translations

(और इन्सान शयातीन से) कहेंगे कि तुम ही तो हमारी दाहिनी तरफ से (हमें बहकाने को) चढ़ आते थे

Qaalooo innakum kuntum taatoonanaa 'anil yameen

They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right."

29قَالُوا۟ بَل لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ

Translations

वह जवाब देगें (हम क्या जानें) तुम तो खुद ईमान लाने वाले न थे

Qaaloo bal lam takoonoo mu'mineen

The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers,

30وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَٰنٍۭ ۖ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًۭا طَٰغِينَ

Translations

और (साफ़ तो ये है कि) हमारी तुम पर कुछ हुकूमत तो थी नहीं बल्कि तुम खुद सरकश लोग थे

Wa maa kaana lanaa 'alaikum min sultaanim bal kuntum qawman taagheen

And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people.

31فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَآ ۖ إِنَّا لَذَآئِقُونَ

Translations

फिर अब तो लोगों पर हमारे परवरदिगार का (अज़ाब का) क़ौल पूरा हो गया कि अब हम सब यक़ीनन अज़ाब का मज़ा चखेंगे

Fahaqqa 'alainaa qawlu Rabbinaaa innaa lazaaa'iqoon

So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment].

32فَأَغْوَيْنَٰكُمْ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَٰوِينَ

Translations

हम खुद गुमराह थे तो तुम को भी गुमराह किया

Fa aghwainaakum innaa kunnaa ghaaween

And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators."

33فَإِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ

Translations

ग़रज़ ये लोग सब के सब उस दिन अज़ाब में शरीक होगें

Fa innahum Yawma'izin fil'azaabi mushtarikoon

So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment.

34إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

Translations

और हम तो गुनाहगारों के साथ यूँ ही किया करते हैं ये लोग ऐसे (शरीर) थे

Innaa kazaalika naf'alu bil mujrimeen

Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals.

35إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوٓا۟ إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ

Translations

कि जब उनसे कहा जाता था कि खुदा के सिवा कोई माबूद नहीं तो अकड़ा करते थे

Innahum kaanooo izaa qeela lahum laaa ilaaha illal laahu yastakbiroon

Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah," were arrogant

36وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍۢ مَّجْنُونٍۭ

Translations

और ये लोग कहते थे कि क्या एक पागल शायर के लिए हम अपने माबूदों को छोड़ बैठें (अरे कम्बख्तों ये शायर या पागल नहीं)

Wa yaqooloona a'innaa lataarikooo aalihatinaa lishaa'irim majnoon

And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?"

37بَلْ جَآءَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Translations

बल्कि ये तो हक़ बात लेकर आया है और (अगले) पैग़म्बरों की तसदीक़ करता है

bal jaaa'a bilhaqqi wa saddaqal mursaleen

Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers.

38إِنَّكُمْ لَذَآئِقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَلِيمِ

Translations

तुम लोग (अगर न मानोगे) तो ज़रूर दर्दनाक अज़ाब का मज़ा चखोगे

Innakum lazaaa'iqul 'azaabil aleem

Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment,

39وَمَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

Translations

और तुम्हें तो उसके किये का बदला दिया जाएगा जो (जो दुनिया में) करते रहे

Wa maa tujzawna illaa maa kuntum ta'maloon

And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do -

40إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ

Translations

मगर खुदा के बरगुजीदा बन्दे

Illaa 'ibaadal laahil mukhlaseen

But not the chosen servants of Allah.

41أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ رِزْقٌۭ مَّعْلُومٌۭ

Translations

उनके वास्ते (बेहिश्त में) एक मुक़र्रर रोज़ी होगी

Ulaaa'ika lahum rizqum ma'loom

Those will have a provision determined -

42فَوَٰكِهُ ۖ وَهُم مُّكْرَمُونَ

Translations

(और वह भी ऐसी वैसी नहीं) हर क़िस्म के मेवे

Fa waakihu wa hum mukramoon

Fruits; and they will be honored

43فِى جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ

Translations

और वह लोग बड़ी इज्ज़त से नेअमत के (लदे हुए)

Fee jannaatin Na'eem

In gardens of pleasure

44عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍۢ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ

Translations

बाग़ों में तख्तों पर (चैन से) आमने सामने बैठे होगे

'Alaa sururim mutaqaa bileen

On thrones facing one another.

45يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِكَأْسٍۢ مِّن مَّعِينٍۭ

Translations

उनमें साफ सफेद बुर्राक़ शराब के जाम का दौर चल रहा होगा

Yutaafu 'alaihim bikaasim mim ma'een

There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring,

46بَيْضَآءَ لَذَّةٍۢ لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ

Translations

जो पीने वालों को बड़ा मज़ा देगी

Baidaaa'a laz zatil lish shaaribeen

White and delicious to the drinkers;

47لَا فِيهَا غَوْلٌۭ وَلَا هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنزَفُونَ

Translations

(और फिर) न उस शराब में ख़ुमार की वजह से) दर्द सर होगा और न वह उस (के पीने) से मतवाले होंगे

Laa feehaa ghawlunw wa laa hum 'anhaa yunzafoon

No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated.

48وَعِندَهُمْ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ عِينٌۭ

Translations

और उनके पहलू में (शर्म से) नीची निगाहें करने वाली बड़ी बड़ी ऑंखों वाली परियाँ होगी

Wa 'indahum qaasiraatut tarfi 'een

And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes,

49كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌۭ مَّكْنُونٌۭ

Translations

(उनकी) गोरी-गोरी रंगतों में हल्की सी सुर्ख़ी ऐसी झलकती होगी

Ka annahunna baidum maknoon

As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected.

50فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ

Translations

गोया वह अन्डे हैं जो छिपाए हुए रखे हो

Fa aqbala ba'duhum 'alaa badiny yatasaaa 'aloon

And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other.

51قَالَ قَآئِلٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ إِنِّى كَانَ لِى قَرِينٌۭ

Translations

फिर एक दूसरे की तरफ मुतावज्जे पाकर बाहम बातचीत करते करते उनमें से एक कहने वाला बोल उठेगा कि (दुनिया में) मेरा एक दोस्त था

Qaala qaaa'ilum minhum innee kaana lee qareen

A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth]

52يَقُولُ أَءِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُصَدِّقِينَ

Translations

और (मुझसे) कहा करता था कि क्या तुम भी क़यामत की तसदीक़ करने वालों में हो

Yaqoolu a'innnaka laminal musaddiqeen

Who would say, 'Are you indeed of those who believe

53أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًۭا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ

Translations

(भला जब हम मर जाएँगे) और (सड़ गल कर) मिट्टी और हव्ी (होकर) रह जाएँगे तो क्या हमको दोबारा ज़िन्दा करके हमारे (आमाल का) बदला दिया जाएगा

'A-izaa mitnaa wa kunnaa turaabanw wa 'izaaman 'ainnaa lamadeenoon

That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'"

54قَالَ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ

Translations

(फिर अपने बेहश्त के साथियों से कहेगा)

Qaala hal antum muttali'oon

He will say, "Would you [care to] look?"

55فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِى سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

Translations

तो क्या तुम लोग भी (मेरे साथ उसे झांक कर देखोगे) ग़रज़ झाँका तो उसे बीच जहन्नुम में (पड़ा हुआ) देखा

Fattala'a fara aahu fee sawaaa'il Jaheem

And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire.

56قَالَ تَٱللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرْدِينِ

Translations

(ये देख कर बेसाख्ता) बोल उठेगा कि खुदा की क़सम तुम तो मुझे भी तबाह करने ही को थे

Qaala tallaahi in kitta laturdeen

He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me.

57وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّى لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْضَرِينَ

Translations

और अगर मेरे परवरदिगार का एहसान न होता तो मैं भी (इस वक्त) तेरी तरह जहन्नुम में गिरफ्तार किया गया होता

Wa law laa ni'matu Rabbee lakuntu minal muhdareen

If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell].

58أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ

Translations

(अब बताओ) क्या (मैं तुम से न कहता था) कि हम को इस पहली मौत के सिवा फिर मरना नहीं है

Afamaa nahnu bimaiyiteen

Then, are we not to die

59إِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ

Translations

और न हम पर (आख़ेरत) में अज़ाब होगा

Illa mawtatanal oola wa maa nahnu bimu'azzabeen

Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?"

60إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ

Translations

(तो तुम्हें यक़ीन न होता था) ये यक़ीनी बहुत बड़ी कामयाबी है

Inna haazaa falya'ma lil'aamiloon

Indeed, this is the great attainment.

61لِمِثْلِ هَٰذَا فَلْيَعْمَلِ ٱلْعَٰمِلُونَ

Translations

ऐसी (ही कामयाबी) के वास्ते काम करने वालों को कारगुज़ारी करनी चाहिए

Limisli haaza falya'ma lil 'aamiloon

For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work.

62أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌۭ نُّزُلًا أَمْ شَجَرَةُ ٱلزَّقُّومِ

Translations

भला मेहमानी के वास्ते ये (सामान) बेहतर है या थोहड़ का दरख्त (जो जहन्नुमियों के वास्ते होगा)

Azaalika khairun nuzulan am shajaratuz Zaqqom

Is Paradise a better accommodation or the tree of zaqqum?

63إِنَّا جَعَلْنَٰهَا فِتْنَةًۭ لِّلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Translations

जिसे हमने यक़ीनन ज़ालिमों की आज़माइश के लिए बनाया है

Innaa ja'alnaahaa fitnatal lizzaalimeen

Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers.

64إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌۭ تَخْرُجُ فِىٓ أَصْلِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

Translations

ये वह दरख्त हैं जो जहन्नुम की तह में उगता है

Innahaa shajaratun takhruju feee aslil Jaheem

Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire,

65طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّهُۥ رُءُوسُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ

Translations

उसके फल ऐसे (बदनुमा) हैं गोया (हू बहू) साँप के फन जिसे छूते दिल डरे

Tal'uhaa ka annahoo ru'oosush Shayaateen

Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils.

66فَإِنَّهُمْ لَءَاكِلُونَ مِنْهَا فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ

Translations

फिर ये (जहन्नुमी लोग) यक़ीनन उसमें से खाएँगे फिर उसी से अपने पेट भरेंगे

Fa innahum la aakiloona minhaa famaali'oona minhal butoon

And indeed, they will eat from it and fill with it their bellies.

67ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لَشَوْبًۭا مِّنْ حَمِيمٍۢ

Translations

फिर उसके ऊपर से उन को खूब खौलता हुआ पानी (पीप वग़ैरह में) मिला मिलाकर पीने को दिया जाएगा

Summa inna lahum 'alaihaa lashawbam min hameem

Then indeed, they will have after it a mixture of scalding water.

68ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لَإِلَى ٱلْجَحِيمِ

Translations

फिर (खा पीकर) उनको जहन्नुम की तरफ यक़ीनन लौट जाना होगा

Summa inna marji'ahum la ilal Jaheem

Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire.

69إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا۟ ءَابَآءَهُمْ ضَآلِّينَ

Translations

उन लोगों ने अपन बाप दादा को गुमराह पाया था

Innahum alfaw aabaaa'ahum daaalleen

Indeed they found their fathers astray.

70فَهُمْ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ

Translations

ये लोग भी उनके पीछे दौड़े चले जा रहे हैं

Fahum 'alaa aasaarihim yuhra'oon

So they hastened [to follow] in their footsteps.

71وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

Translations

और उनके क़ब्ल अगलों में से बहुतेरे गुमराह हो चुके

Wa laqad dalla qablahum aksarul awwaleen

And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples,

72وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ

Translations

उन लोगों के डराने वाले (पैग़म्बरों) को भेजा था

Wa laqad arsalnaa feehim munzireen

And We had already sent among them warners.

73فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ

Translations

ज़रा देखो तो कि जो लोग डराए जा चुके थे उनका क्या बुरा अन्जाम हुआ

Fanzur kaifa kaana 'aaqibatul munzareen

Then look how was the end of those who were warned -

74إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ

Translations

मगर (हाँ) खुदा के निरे खरे बन्दे (महफूज़ रहे)

Illaa 'ibaadal laahil mukhlaseen

But not the chosen servants of Allah.

75وَلَقَدْ نَادَىٰنَا نُوحٌۭ فَلَنِعْمَ ٱلْمُجِيبُونَ

Translations

और नूह ने (अपनी कौम से मायूस होकर) हमें ज़रूर पुकारा था (देखो हम) क्या खूब जवाब देने वाले थे

Wa laqad naadaanaa Noohun falani'mal mujeeboon

And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders.

76وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

Translations

और हमने उनको और उनके लड़के वालों को बड़ी (सख्त) मुसीबत से नजात दी

Wa jajainaahu wa ahlahoo minal karbil 'azeem

And We saved him and his family from the great affliction.

77وَجَعَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥ هُمُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ

Translations

और हमने (उनमें वह बरकत दी कि) उनकी औलाद को (दुनिया में) बरक़रार रखा

Wa ja'alnaa zurriyyatahoo hummul baaqeen

And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth]

78وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ

Translations

और बाद को आने वाले लोगों में उनका अच्छा चर्चा बाक़ी रखा

Wa taraknaa 'alaihi fil aakhireen

And left for him [favorable mention] among later generations:

79سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ نُوحٍۢ فِى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Translations

कि सारी खुदायी में (हर तरफ से) नूह पर सलाम है

Salaamun 'alaa Noohin fil 'aalameen

"Peace upon Noah among the worlds."

80إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

Translations

हम नेकी करने वालों को यूँ जज़ाए ख़ैर अता फरमाते हैं

Innaa kazaalika najzil muhsineen

Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.

81إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Translations

इसमें शक नहीं कि नूह हमारे (ख़ास) ईमानदार बन्दों से थे

Innahoo min 'ibaadinal mu'mineen

Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.

82ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ

Translations

फिर हमने बाक़ी लोगों को डुबो दिया

Summa aghraqnal aakhareen

Then We drowned the disbelievers.

83۞ وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ لَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ

Translations

और यक़ीनन उन्हीं के तरीक़ो पर चलने वालों में इबराहीम (भी) ज़रूर थे

Wa ina min shee'atihee la Ibraaheem

And indeed, among his kind was Abraham,

84إِذْ جَآءَ رَبَّهُۥ بِقَلْبٍۢ سَلِيمٍ

Translations

जब वह अपने परवरदिगार (कि इबादत) की तरफ (पहलू में) ऐसा दिल लिए हुए बढ़े जो (हर ऐब से पाक था

Iz jaaa'a Rabbahoo bi qalbin saleem

When he came to his Lord with a sound heart

85إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَاذَا تَعْبُدُونَ

Translations

जब उन्होंने अपने (मुँह बोले) बाप और अपनी क़ौम से कहा कि तुम लोग किस चीज़ की परसतिश करते हो

Iz qaala li abeehi wa qawmihee maazaa ta'budoon

[And] when he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?

86أَئِفْكًا ءَالِهَةًۭ دُونَ ٱللَّهِ تُرِيدُونَ

Translations

क्या खुदा को छोड़कर दिल से गढ़े हुए माबूदों की तमन्ना रखते हो

A'ifkan aalihatan doonal laahi tureedoon

Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire?

87فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Translations

फिर सारी खुदाई के पालने वाले के साथ तुम्हारा क्या ख्याल है

Famaa zannukum bi Rabbil'aalameen

Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?"

88فَنَظَرَ نَظْرَةًۭ فِى ٱلنُّجُومِ

Translations

फिर (एक ईद में उन लोगों ने चलने को कहा) तो इबराहीम ने सितारों की तरफ़ एक नज़र देखा

Fanazara nazratan finnujoom

And he cast a look at the stars

89فَقَالَ إِنِّى سَقِيمٌۭ

Translations

और कहा कि मैं (अनक़रीब) बीमार पड़ने वाला हूँ

Faqaala inee saqeem

And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill."

90فَتَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ مُدْبِرِينَ

Translations

तो वह लोग इबराहीम के पास से पीठ फेर फेर कर हट गए

Fatawallaw 'anhu mudbireen

So they turned away from him, departing.

91فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِهِمْ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ

Translations

(बस) फिर तो इबराहीम चुपके से उनके बुतों की तरफ मुतावज्जे हुए और (तान से) कहा तुम्हारे सामने इतने चढ़ाव रखते हैं

Faraagha ilaaa aalihatihim faqaala alaa taakuloon

Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat?

92مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنطِقُونَ

Translations

आख़िर तुम खाते क्यों नहीं (अरे तुम्हें क्या हो गया है)

Maa lakum laa tantiqoon

What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?"

93فَرَاغَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضَرْبًۢا بِٱلْيَمِينِ

Translations

कि तुम बोलते तक नहीं

Faraagha 'alaihim darbam bilyameen

And he turned upon them a blow with [his] right hand.

94فَأَقْبَلُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ يَزِفُّونَ

Translations

फिर तो इबराहीम दाहिने हाथ से मारते हुए उन पर पिल पड़े (और तोड़-फोड़ कर एक बड़े बुत के गले में कुल्हाड़ी डाल दी)

Fa aqbalooo ilaihi yaziffoon

Then the people came toward him, hastening.

95قَالَ أَتَعْبُدُونَ مَا تَنْحِتُونَ

Translations

जब उन लोगों को ख़बर हुई तो इबराहीम के पास दौड़ते हुए पहुँचे

Qaala ata'budoona maa tanhitoon

He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve,

96وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَمَا تَعْمَلُونَ

Translations

इबराहीम ने कहा (अफ़सोस) तुम लोग उसकी परसतिश करते हो जिसे तुम लोग खुद तराश कर बनाते हो

Wallaahu khalaqakum wa maa ta'maloon

While Allah created you and that which you do?"

97قَالُوا۟ ٱبْنُوا۟ لَهُۥ بُنْيَٰنًۭا فَأَلْقُوهُ فِى ٱلْجَحِيمِ

Translations

हालाँकि तुमको और जिसको तुम लोग बनाते हो (सबको) खुदा ही ने पैदा किया है (ये सुनकर) वह लोग (आपस में कहने लगे) इसके लिए (भट्टी की सी) एक इमारत बनाओ

Qaalub noo lahoo bun yaanan fa alqoohu fil jaheem

They said, "Construct for him a furnace and throw him into the burning fire."

98فَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَيْدًۭا فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْأَسْفَلِينَ

Translations

और (उसमें आग सुलगा कर उसी दहकती हुई आग में इसको डाल दो) फिर उन लोगों ने इबराहीम के साथ मक्कारी करनी चाही

Fa araadoo bihee kaidan faja 'alnaahumul asfaleen

And they intended for him a plan, but We made them the most debased.

99وَقَالَ إِنِّى ذَاهِبٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ

Translations

तो हमने (आग सर्द गुलज़ार करके) उन्हें नीचा दिखाया और जब (आज़र ने) इबराहीम को निकाल दिया तो बोले मैं अपने परवरदिगार की तरफ जाता हूँ

Wa qaala innee zaahibun ilaa Rabbee sa yahdeen

And [then] he said, "Indeed, I will go to [where I am ordered by] my Lord; He will guide me.

100رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

Translations

वह अनक़रीब ही मुझे रूबरा कर देगा (फिर ग़रज की) परवरदिगार मुझे एक नेको कार (फरज़न्द) इनायत फरमा

Rabbi hab lee minas saaliheen

My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous."

101فَبَشَّرْنَٰهُ بِغُلَٰمٍ حَلِيمٍۢ

Translations

तो हमने उनको एक बड़े नरम दिले लड़के (के पैदा होने की) खुशख़बरी दी

Fabashsharnaahu bighulaamin haleem

So We gave him good tidings of a forbearing boy.

102فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعْىَ قَالَ يَٰبُنَىَّ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰ فِى ٱلْمَنَامِ أَنِّىٓ أَذْبَحُكَ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَىٰ ۚ قَالَ يَٰٓأَبَتِ ٱفْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ ۖ سَتَجِدُنِىٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ

Translations

फिर जब इस्माईल अपने बाप के साथ दौड़ धूप करने लगा तो (एक दफा) इबराहीम ने कहा बेटा खूब मैं (वही के ज़रिये क्या) देखता हूँ कि मैं तो खुद तुम्हें ज़िबाह कर रहा हूँ तो तुम भी ग़ौर करो तुम्हारी इसमें क्या राय है इसमाईल ने कहा अब्बा जान जो आपको हुक्म हुआ है उसको (बे तअम्मुल) कीजिए अगर खुदा ने चाहा तो मुझे आप सब्र करने वालों में से पाएगे

Falamma balagha ma'a hus sa'ya qaala yaa buniya inneee araa fil manaami anneee azbahuka fanzur maazaa taraa; qaala yaaa abatif 'al maa tu'maru satajidunee in shaaa'allaahu minas saabireen

And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast."

103فَلَمَّآ أَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّهُۥ لِلْجَبِينِ

Translations

फिर जब दोनों ने ये ठान ली और बाप ने बेटे को (ज़िबाह करने के लिए) माथे के बल लिटाया

Falammaaa aslamaa wa tallahoo liljabeen

And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead,

104وَنَٰدَيْنَٰهُ أَن يَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ

Translations

और हमने (आमादा देखकर) आवाज़ दी ऐ इबराहीम

Wa naadainaahu ai yaaaa Ibraheem

We called to him, "O Abraham,

105قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ ٱلرُّءْيَآ ۚ إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

Translations

तुमने अपने ख्वाब को सच कर दिखाया अब तुम दोनों को बड़े मरतबे मिलेगें हम नेकी करने वालों को यूँ जज़ाए ख़ैर देते हैं

Qad saddaqtar ru'yaa; innaa kazaalika najzil muhsineen

You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.

106إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْبَلَٰٓؤُا۟ ٱلْمُبِينُ

Translations

इसमें शक नहीं कि ये यक़ीनी बड़ा सख्त और सरीही इम्तिहान था

Inna haazaa lahuwal balaaa'ul mubeen

Indeed, this was the clear trial.

107وَفَدَيْنَٰهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍۢ

Translations

और हमने इस्माईल का फ़िदया एक ज़िबाहे अज़ीम (बड़ी कुर्बानी) क़रार दिया

Wa fadainaahu bizibhin 'azeem

And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice,

108وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ

Translations

और हमने उनका अच्छा चर्चा बाद को आने वालों में बाक़ी रखा है

Wa taraknaa 'alaihi fil aakhireen

And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations:

109سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ

Translations

कि (सारी खुदायी में) इबराहीम पर सलाम (ही सलाम) हैं

Salaamun 'alaaa Ibraaheem

"Peace upon Abraham."

110كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

Translations

हम यूँ नेकी करने वालों को जज़ाए ख़ैर देते हैं

Kazaalika najzil muhsineen

Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.

111إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Translations

बेशक इबराहीम हमारे (ख़ास) ईमानदार बन्दों में थे

Innahoo min 'ibaadinal mu'mineen

Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.

112وَبَشَّرْنَٰهُ بِإِسْحَٰقَ نَبِيًّۭا مِّنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ

Translations

और हमने इबराहीम को इसहाक़ (के पैदा होने की) खुशख़बरी दी थी

Wa bashsharnaahu bi Ishaaqa Nabiyayam minas saaliheen

And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous.

113وَبَٰرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَىٰٓ إِسْحَٰقَ ۚ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحْسِنٌۭ وَظَالِمٌۭ لِّنَفْسِهِۦ مُبِينٌۭ

Translations

जो एक नेकोसार नबी थे और हमने खुद इबराहीम पर और इसहाक़ पर अपनी बरकत नाज़िल की और इन दोनों की नस्ल में बाज़ तो नेकोकार और बाज़ (नाफरमानी करके) अपनी जान पर सरीही सितम ढ़ाने वाला

Wa baaraknaa 'alaihi wa 'alaaa Ishaaq; wa min zurriyya tihimaa muhsinunw wa zaalimul linafshihee mubeen

And We blessed him and Isaac. But among their descendants is the doer of good and the clearly unjust to himself.

114وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ

Translations

और हमने मूसा और हारून पर बहुत से एहसानात किए हैं

Wa laqad mananna alaa Moosaa wa Haaroon

And We did certainly confer favor upon Moses and Aaron.

115وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُمَا وَقَوْمَهُمَا مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ

Translations

और खुद दोनों को और इनकी क़ौम को बड़ी (सख्त) मुसीबत से नजात दी

Wa najjainaahumaa wa qawmahumaa minal karbil 'azeem

And We saved them and their people from the great affliction,

116وَنَصَرْنَٰهُمْ فَكَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ

Translations

और (फिरऔन के मुक़ाबले में) हमने उनकी मदद की तो (आख़िर) यही लोग ग़ालिब रहे

Wa nasarnaahum fakaanoo humul ghaalibeen

And We supported them so it was they who overcame.

117وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُمَا ٱلْكِتَٰبَ ٱلْمُسْتَبِينَ

Translations

और हमने उन दोनों को एक वाज़ेए उलम तालिब किताब (तौरेत) अता की

Wa aatainaahumal Kitaabal mustabeen

And We gave them the explicit Scripture,

118وَهَدَيْنَٰهُمَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ

Translations

और दोनों को सीधी राह की हिदायत फ़रमाई

Wa hadainaahumus Siraatal Mustaqeem

And We guided them on the straight path.

119وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِمَا فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ

Translations

और बाद को आने वालों में उनका ज़िक्रे ख़ैर बाक़ी रखा

Wa taraknaa 'alaihimaa fil aakhireen

And We left for them [favorable mention] among later generations:

120سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ

Translations

कि (हर जगह) मूसा और हारून पर सलाम (ही सलाम) है

Salaamun 'alaa Moosaa wa Haaroon

"Peace upon Moses and Aaron."

121إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

Translations

हम नेकी करने वालों को यूँ जज़ाए ख़ैर अता फरमाते हैं

Innaa kazaalika najzil muhsineen

Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.

122إِنَّهُمَا مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Translations

बेशक ये दोनों हमारे (ख़ालिस ईमानदार बन्दों में से थे)

Innahumaa min 'ibaadinal mu'mineen

Indeed, they were of Our believing servants.

123وَإِنَّ إِلْيَاسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Translations

और इसमें शक नहीं कि इलियास यक़ीनन पैग़म्बरों में से थे

Wa inna Ilyaasa laminal mursaleen

And indeed, Elias was from among the messengers,

124إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ

Translations

जब उन्होंने अपनी क़ौम से कहा कि तुम लोग (ख़ुदा से) क्यों नहीं डरते

Iz qaala liqawmiheee alaa tattaqoon

When he said to his people, "Will you not fear Allah?

125أَتَدْعُونَ بَعْلًۭا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحْسَنَ ٱلْخَٰلِقِينَ

Translations

क्या तुम लोग बाल (बुत) की परसतिश करते हो और खुदा को छोड़े बैठे हो जो सबसे बेहतर पैदा करने वाला है

Atad'oona Ba'lanw wa tazaroona ahsanal khaaliqeen

Do you call upon Ba'l and leave the best of creators -

126ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

Translations

और (जो) तुम्हारा परवरदिगार और तुम्हारे अगले बाप दादाओं का (भी) परवरदिगार है

Allaaha Rabbakum wa Rabba aabaaa'ikumul awwaleen

Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers?"

127فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ

Translations

तो उसे लोगों ने झुठला दिया तो ये लोग यक़ीनन (जहन्नुम) में गिरफ्तार किए जाएँगे

Fakazzaboohu fa inna hum lamuhdaroon

And they denied him, so indeed, they will be brought [for punishment],

128إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ

Translations

मगर खुदा के निरे खरे बन्दे महफूज़ रहेंगे

Illaa 'ibaadal laahil mukhlaseen

Except the chosen servants of Allah.

129وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ

Translations

और हमने उनका ज़िक्र ख़ैर बाद को आने वालों में बाक़ी रखा

Wa taraknaa 'alaihi fil aakhireen

And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations:

130سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِلْ يَاسِينَ

Translations

कि (हर तरफ से) आले यासीन पर सलाम (ही सलाम) है

Salaamun 'alaaa Ilyaaseen

"Peace upon Elias."

131إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

Translations

हम यक़ीनन नेकी करने वालों को ऐसा ही बदला दिया करते हैं

Innaa kazaalika najzil muhsineen

Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.

132إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

Translations

बेशक वह हमारे (ख़ालिस) ईमानदार बन्दों में थे

Innahoo min 'ibaadinal mu'mineen

Indeed, he was of Our believing servants.

133وَإِنَّ لُوطًۭا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Translations

और इसमें भी शक नहीं कि लूत यक़ीनी पैग़म्बरों में से थे

Wa inna Lootal laminal mursaleen

And indeed, Lot was among the messengers.

134إِذْ نَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ

Translations

जब हमने उनको और उनके लड़के वालों सब को नजात दी

Iz najjainaahu wa ahlahooo ajma'een

[So mention] when We saved him and his family, all,

135إِلَّا عَجُوزًۭا فِى ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ

Translations

मगर एक (उनकी) बूढ़ी बीबी जो पीछे रह जाने वालों ही में थीं

Illaa 'ajoozan fil ghaabireen

Except his wife among those who remained [with the evildoers].

136ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ

Translations

फिर हमने बाक़ी लोगों को तबाह व बर्बाद कर दिया

Summa dammarnal aakhareen

Then We destroyed the others.

137وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِم مُّصْبِحِينَ

Translations

और ऐ अहले मक्का तुम लोग भी उन पर से (कभी) सुबह को और (कभी) शाम को (आते जाते गुज़रते हो)

Wa innakum latamurroona 'alaihim musbiheen

And indeed, you pass by them in the morning

138وَبِٱلَّيْلِ ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ

Translations

तो क्या तुम (इतना भी) नहीं समझते

Wa billail; afalaa ta'qiloon

And at night. Then will you not use reason?

139وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Translations

और इसमें शक नहीं कि यूनुस (भी) पैग़म्बरों में से थे

Wa inna Yoonusa laminal mursaleen

And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers.

140إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ

Translations

(वह वक्त याद करो) जब यूनुस भाग कर एक भरी हुई कश्ती के पास पहुँचे

Iz abaqa ilal fulkil mash hoon

[Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship.

141فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُدْحَضِينَ

Translations

तो (अहले कश्ती ने) कुरआ डाला तो (उनका ही नाम निकला) यूनुस ने ज़क उठायी (और दरिया में गिर पड़े)

Fasaahama fakaana minal mudhadeen

And he drew lots and was among the losers.

142فَٱلْتَقَمَهُ ٱلْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌۭ

Translations

तो उनको एक मछली निगल गयी और यूनुस खुद (अपनी) मलामत कर रहे थे

Faltaqamahul hootu wa huwa muleem

Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy.

143فَلَوْلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَبِّحِينَ

Translations

फिर अगर यूनुस (खुदा की) तसबीह (व ज़िक्र) न करते

Falaw laaa annahoo kaana minal musabbiheen

And had he not been of those who exalt Allah,

144لَلَبِثَ فِى بَطْنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ

Translations

तो रोज़े क़यामत तक मछली के पेट में रहते

Lalabisa fee batniheee ilaa Yawmi yub'asoon

He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected.

145۞ فَنَبَذْنَٰهُ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌۭ

Translations

फिर हमने उनको (मछली के पेट से निकाल कर) एक खुले मैदान में डाल दिया

Fanabaznaahu bil'araaa'i wa huwa saqeem

But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill.

146وَأَنۢبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةًۭ مِّن يَقْطِينٍۢ

Translations

और (वह थोड़ी देर में) बीमार निढाल हो गए थे और हमने उन पर साये के लिए एक कद्दू का दरख्त उगा दिया

Wa ambatnaa 'alaihi shajaratam mai yaqteen

And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine.

147وَأَرْسَلْنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِا۟ئَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ

Translations

और (इसके बाद) हमने एक लाख बल्कि (एक हिसाब से) ज्यादा आदमियों की तरफ (पैग़म्बर बना कर भेजा)

Wa arsalnaahu ilaa mi'ati alfin aw yazeedoon

And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more.

148فَـَٔامَنُوا۟ فَمَتَّعْنَٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍۢ

Translations

तो वह लोग (उन पर) ईमान लाए फिर हमने (भी) एक ख़ास वक्त तक उनको चैन से रखा

Fa aamanoo famatta' naahum ilaa heen

And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time.

149فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلْبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ

Translations

तो (ऐ रसूल) उन कुफ्फ़ार से पूछो कि क्या तुम्हारे परवरदिगार के लिए बेटियाँ हैं और उनके लिए बेटे

Fastaftihim ali Rabbikal banaatu wa lahumul banoon

So inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Does your Lord have daughters while they have sons?

150أَمْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ إِنَٰثًۭا وَهُمْ شَٰهِدُونَ

Translations

(क्या वाक़ई) हमने फरिश्तों की औरतें बनाया है और ये लोग (उस वक्त) मौजूद थे

Am khalaqnal malaaa'i kata inaasanw wa hm shaahidoon

Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?"

151أَلَآ إِنَّهُم مِّنْ إِفْكِهِمْ لَيَقُولُونَ

Translations

ख़बरदार (याद रखो कि) ये लोग यक़ीनन अपने दिल से गढ़-गढ़ के कहते हैं कि खुदा औलाद वाला है

Alaaa innahum min ifkihim la yaqooloon

Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say,

152وَلَدَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَ

Translations

और ये लोग यक़ीनी झूठे हैं

Waladal laahu wa innhum lakaaziboon

" Allah has begotten," and indeed, they are liars.

153أَصْطَفَى ٱلْبَنَاتِ عَلَى ٱلْبَنِينَ

Translations

क्या खुदा ने (अपने लिए) बेटियों को बेटों पर तरजीह दी है

Astafal banaati 'alal baneen

Has He chosen daughters over sons?

154مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ

Translations

(अरे कम्बख्तों) तुम्हें क्या जुनून हो गया है तुम लोग (बैठे-बैठे) कैसा फैसला करते हो

Maa lakum kaifa tahkumoon

What is [wrong] with you? How do you make judgement?

155أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ

Translations

तो क्या तुम (इतना भी) ग़ौर नहीं करते

Afalaa tazakkaroon

Then will you not be reminded?

156أَمْ لَكُمْ سُلْطَٰنٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ

Translations

या तुम्हारे पास (इसकी) कोई वाज़ेए व रौशन दलील है

Am lakum sultaanum mubeen

Or do you have a clear authority?

157فَأْتُوا۟ بِكِتَٰبِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ

Translations

तो अगर तुम (अपने दावे में) सच्चे हो तो अपनी किताब पेश करो

Faatoo bi Kitaabikum in kuntum saadiqeen

Then produce your scripture, if you should be truthful.

158وَجَعَلُوا۟ بَيْنَهُۥ وَبَيْنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ نَسَبًۭا ۚ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمَتِ ٱلْجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ

Translations

और उन लोगों ने खुदा और जिन्नात के दरमियान रिश्ता नाता मुक़र्रर किया है हालाँकि जिन्नात बखूबी जानते हैं कि वह लोग यक़ीनी (क़यामत में बन्दों की तरह) हाज़िर किए जाएँगे

Wa ja'aloo bainahoo wa bainal jinnati nasabaa; wa laqad 'alimatil jinnatu innahum lamuhdaroon

And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment].

159سُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ

Translations

ये लोग जो बातें बनाया करते हैं इनसे खुदा पाक साफ़ है

Subhaanal laahi 'ammaa yasifoon

Exalted is Allah above what they describe,

160إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ

Translations

मगर खुदा के निरे खरे बन्दे (ऐसा नहीं कहते)

Illaa 'ibaadal laahil mukhlaseen

Except the chosen servants of Allah [who do not share in that sin].

161فَإِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ

Translations

ग़रज़ तुम लोग खुद और तुम्हारे माबूद

Fa innakum wa maa ta'ubdoon

So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship,

162مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَٰتِنِينَ

Translations

उसके ख़िलाफ (किसी को) बहका नहीं सकते

Maaa antum 'alaihi befaaatineen

You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him

163إِلَّا مَنْ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ

Translations

मगर उसको जो जहन्नुम में झोंका जाने वाला है

Illaa man huwa saalil jaheem

Except he who is to [enter and] burn in the Hellfire.

164وَمَا مِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامٌۭ مَّعْلُومٌۭ

Translations

और फरिश्ते या आइम्मा तो ये कहते हैं कि मैं हर एक का एक दरजा मुक़र्रर है

Wa maa minnasa illaa lahoo maqaamum ma'loom

[The angels say], "There is not among us any except that he has a known position.

165وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلصَّآفُّونَ

Translations

और हम तो यक़ीनन (उसकी इबादत के लिए) सफ बाँधे खड़े रहते हैं

Wa innaa llanah nus saaffoon

And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer].

166وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْمُسَبِّحُونَ

Translations

और हम तो यक़ीनी (उसकी) तस्बीह पढ़ा करते हैं

Wa innaa lanah nul musabbihoon

And indeed, we are those who exalt Allah."

167وَإِن كَانُوا۟ لَيَقُولُونَ

Translations

अगरचे ये कुफ्फार (इस्लाम के क़ब्ल) कहा करते थे

Wa in kaanoo la yaqooloon

And indeed, the disbelievers used to say,

168لَوْ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكْرًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

Translations

कि अगर हमारे पास भी अगले लोगों का तज़किरा (किसी किताबे खुदा में) होता

Law anna 'indana zikram minal awwaleen

"If we had a message from [those of] the former peoples,

169لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ

Translations

तो हम भी खुदा के निरे खरे बन्दे ज़रूर हो जाते

Lakunna 'ibaadal laahil mukhlaseen

We would have been the chosen servants of Allah."

170فَكَفَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ

Translations

(मगर जब किताब आयी) तो उन लोगों ने उससे इन्कार किया ख़ैर अनक़रीब (उसका नतीजा) उन्हें मालूम हो जाएगा

Fakafaroo bihee fasawfa ya'lamoon

But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know.

171وَلَقَدْ سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Translations

और अपने ख़ास बन्दों पैग़म्बरों से हमारी बात पक्की हो चुकी है

Wa laqad sabaqat Kalimatunaa li'ibaadinal mursa leen

And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers,

172إِنَّهُمْ لَهُمُ ٱلْمَنصُورُونَ

Translations

कि इन लोगों की (हमारी बारगाह से) यक़ीनी मदद की जाएगी

Innaa hum lahumul mansooroon

[That] indeed, they would be those given victory

173وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ

Translations

और हमारा लश्कर तो यक़ीनन ग़ालिब रहेगा

Wa inna jundana lahumul ghaaliboon

And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome.

174فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍۢ

Translations

तो (ऐ रसूल) तुम उनसे एक ख़ास वक्त तक मुँह फेरे रहो

Fatawalla 'anhum hatta heen

So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time.

175وَأَبْصِرْهُمْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ

Translations

और इनको देखते रहो तो ये लोग अनक़रीब ही (अपना नतीजा) देख लेगे

Wa absirhum fasawfa yubsiroon

And see [what will befall] them, for they are going to see.

176أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ

Translations

तो क्या ये लोग हमारे अज़ाब की जल्दी कर रहे हैं

Afabi'azaabinaa yasta'jiloon

Then for Our punishment are they impatient?

177فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ فَسَآءَ صَبَاحُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ

Translations

फिर जब (अज़ाब) उनकी अंगनाई में उतर पडेग़ा तो जो लोग डराए जा चुके हैं उनकी भी क्या बुरी सुबह होगी

Fa izaa nazala bisaahatihim fasaaa'a sabaahul munzareen

But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned.

178وَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍۢ

Translations

और उन लोगों से एक ख़ास वक्त तक मुँह फेरे रहो

Wa tawalla 'anhum hattaa heen

And leave them for a time.

179وَأَبْصِرْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ

Translations

और देखते रहो ये लोग तो खुद अनक़रीब ही अपना अन्जाम देख लेगें

Wa absir fasawfa yubsiroon

And see, for they are going to see.

180سُبْحَٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ

Translations

ये लोग जो बातें (खुदा के बारे में) बनाया करते हैं उनसे तुम्हारा परवरदिगार इज्ज़त का मालिक पाक साफ है

Subhaana Rabbika Rabbil 'izzati 'amma yasifoon

Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe.

181وَسَلَٰمٌ عَلَى ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

Translations

और पैग़म्बरों पर (दुरूद) सलाम हो

Wa salaamun 'alalmursaleen

And peace upon the messengers.

182وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ

Translations

और कुल तारीफ खुदा ही के लिए सज़ावार हैं जो सारे जहाँन का पालने वाला है

Walhamdu lillaahi Rabbil 'aalameen

And praise to Allah, Lord of the worlds.

Surah As-Saaffaat (37/114)
