1بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلْفَجْرِ

Translations

सुबह की क़सम

Wal-Fajr

By the dawn

2وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍۢ

Translations

और दस रातों की

Wa layaalin 'ashr

And [by] ten nights

3وَٱلشَّفْعِ وَٱلْوَتْرِ

Translations

और ज़ुफ्त व ताक़ की

Wash shaf'i wal watr

And [by] the even [number] and the odd

4وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ

Translations

और रात की जब आने लगे

Wallaili izaa yasr

And [by] the night when it passes,

5هَلْ فِى ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٌۭ لِّذِى حِجْرٍ

Translations

अक्लमन्द के वास्ते तो ज़रूर बड़ी क़सम है (कि कुफ्फ़ार पर ज़रूर अज़ाब होगा)

Hal fee zaalika qasamul lizee hijr

Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception?

6أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ

Translations

क्या तुमने देखा नहीं कि तुम्हारे आद के साथ क्या किया

Alam tara kaifa fa'ala rabbuka bi'aad

Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with 'Aad -

7إِرَمَ ذَاتِ ٱلْعِمَادِ

Translations

यानि इरम वाले दराज़ क़द

Iramaa zaatil 'imaad

[With] Iram - who had lofty pillars,

8ٱلَّتِى لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِى ٱلْبِلَٰدِ

Translations

जिनका मिसल तमाम (दुनिया के) शहरों में कोई पैदा ही नहीं किया गया

Allatee lam yukhlaq misluhaa fil bilaad

The likes of whom had never been created in the land?

9وَثَمُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ جَابُوا۟ ٱلصَّخْرَ بِٱلْوَادِ

Translations

और समूद के साथ (क्या किया) जो वादी (क़रा) में पत्थर तराश कर घर बनाते थे

Wa samoodal lazeena jaabus sakhra bil waad

And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley?

10وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِى ٱلْأَوْتَادِ

Translations

और फिरऔन के साथ (क्या किया) जो (सज़ा के लिए) मेख़े रखता था

Wa fir'awna zil awtaad

And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes? -

11ٱلَّذِينَ طَغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْبِلَٰدِ

Translations

ये लोग मुख़तलिफ़ शहरों में सरकश हो रहे थे

Allazeena taghaw fil bilaad

[All of] whom oppressed within the lands

12فَأَكْثَرُوا۟ فِيهَا ٱلْفَسَادَ

Translations

और उनमें बहुत से फ़साद फैला रखे थे

Fa aksaroo feehal fasaad

And increased therein the corruption.

13فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّكَ سَوْطَ عَذَابٍ

Translations

तो तुम्हारे परवरदिगार ने उन पर अज़ाब का कोड़ा लगाया

Fasabba 'alaihim Rabbuka sawta 'azaab

So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment.

14إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَبِٱلْمِرْصَادِ

Translations

बेशक तुम्हारा परवरदिगार ताक में है

Inna Rabbaka labil mirsaad

Indeed, your Lord is in observation.

15فَأَمَّا ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ فَأَكْرَمَهُۥ وَنَعَّمَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّىٓ أَكْرَمَنِ

Translations

लेकिन इन्सान जब उसको उसका परवरदिगार (इस तरह) आज़माता है कि उसको इज्ज़त व नेअमत देता है, तो कहता है कि मेरे परवरदिगार ने मुझे इज्ज़त दी है

Fa ammal insaanu izaa mab talaahu Rabbuhoo fa akramahoo wa na' 'amahoo fa yaqoolu Rabbeee akraman

And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me."

16وَأَمَّآ إِذَا مَا ٱبْتَلَىٰهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَيْهِ رِزْقَهُۥ فَيَقُولُ رَبِّىٓ أَهَٰنَنِ

Translations

मगर जब उसको (इस तरह) आज़माता है कि उस पर रोज़ी को तंग कर देता है बोल उठता है कि मेरे परवरदिगार ने मुझे ज़लील किया

Wa ammaaa izaa mabtalaahu faqadara 'alaihi rizqahoo fa yaqoolu Rabbeee ahaanan

But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me."

17كَلَّا ۖ بَل لَّا تُكْرِمُونَ ٱلْيَتِيمَ

Translations

हरगिज़ नहीं बल्कि तुम लोग न यतीम की ख़ातिरदारी करते हो

Kalla bal laa tukrimooo nal yateem

No! But you do not honor the orphan

18وَلَا تَحَٰٓضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ

Translations

और न मोहताज को खाना खिलाने की तरग़ीब देते हो

Wa laa tahaaaddoona 'alaata'aamil miskeen

And you do not encourage one another to feed the poor.

19وَتَأْكُلُونَ ٱلتُّرَاثَ أَكْلًۭا لَّمًّۭا

Translations

और मीरारा के माल (हलाल व हराम) को समेट कर चख जाते हो

Wa taakuloonat turaasa aklal lammaa

And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether,

20وَتُحِبُّونَ ٱلْمَالَ حُبًّۭا جَمًّۭا

Translations

और माल को बहुत ही अज़ीज़ रखते हो

Wa tuhibboonal maala hubban jammaa

And you love wealth with immense love.

21كَلَّآ إِذَا دُكَّتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ دَكًّۭا دَكًّۭا

Translations

सुन रखो कि जब ज़मीन कूट कूट कर रेज़ा रेज़ा कर दी जाएगी

Kallaaa izaaa dukkatil ardu dakkan dakka

No! When the earth has been leveled - pounded and crushed -

22وَجَآءَ رَبُّكَ وَٱلْمَلَكُ صَفًّۭا صَفًّۭا

Translations

और तुम्हारे परवरदिगार का हुक्म और फ़रिश्ते कतार के कतार आ जाएँगे

Wa jaaa'a Rabbuka wal malaku saffan saffaa

And your Lord has come and the angels, rank upon rank,

23وَجِا۟ىٓءَ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِجَهَنَّمَ ۚ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ

Translations

और उस दिन जहन्नुम सामने कर दी जाएगी उस दिन इन्सान चौंकेगा मगर अब चौंकना कहाँ (फ़ायदा देगा)

Wa jeee'a yawma'izim bi jahannnam; Yawma 'iziny yatazakkarul insaanu wa annaa lahuz zikraa

And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but what good to him will be the remembrance?

24يَقُولُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى قَدَّمْتُ لِحَيَاتِى

Translations

(उस वक्त) क़हेगा कि काश मैने अपनी (इस) ज़िन्दगी के वास्ते कुछ पहले भेजा होता

Yaqoolu yaa laitanee qaddamtu lihayaatee

He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life."

25فَيَوْمَئِذٍۢ لَّا يُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌۭ

Translations

तो उस दिन ख़ुदा ऐसा अज़ाब करेगा कि किसी ने वैसा अज़ाब न किया होगा

Fa Yawma izil laa yu'azzibu 'azaabahooo ahad

So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishment,

26وَلَا يُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌۭ

Translations

और न कोई उसके जकड़ने की तरह जकड़ेगा

Wa laa yoosiqu wasaaqa hooo ahad

And none will bind [as severely] as His binding [of the evildoers].

27يَٰٓأَيَّتُهَا ٱلنَّفْسُ ٱلْمُطْمَئِنَّةُ

Translations

(और कुछ लोगों से कहेगा) ऐ इत्मेनान पाने वाली जान

Yaaa ayyatuhan nafsul mutma 'innah

[To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul,

28ٱرْجِعِىٓ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكِ رَاضِيَةًۭ مَّرْضِيَّةًۭ

Translations

अपने परवरदिगार की तरफ़ चल तू उससे ख़ुश वह तुझ से राज़ी

Irji'eee ilaa Rabbiki raadiyatam mardiyyah

Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him],

29فَٱدْخُلِى فِى عِبَٰدِى

Translations

तो मेरे (ख़ास) बन्दों में शामिल हो जा

Fadkhulee fee 'ibaadee

And enter among My [righteous] servants

30وَٱدْخُلِى جَنَّتِى

Translations

और मेरे बेहिश्त में दाख़िल हो जा

Wadkhulee jannatee

And enter My Paradise."
