1بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ سَأَلَ سَآئِلٌۢ بِعَذَابٍۢ وَاقِعٍۢ

Translations

एक माँगने वाले ने काफिरों के लिए होकर रहने वाले अज़ाब को माँगा

Sa ala saaa'ilum bi'azaa binw-waaqi'

A supplicant asked for a punishment bound to happen

2لِّلْكَٰفِرِينَ لَيْسَ لَهُۥ دَافِعٌۭ

Translations

जिसको कोई टाल नहीं सकता

Lilkaafireen laisa lahoo daafi'

To the disbelievers; of it there is no preventer.

3مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ ذِى ٱلْمَعَارِجِ

Translations

जो दर्जे वाले ख़ुदा की तरफ से (होने वाला) था

Minal laahi zil ma'aarij

[It is] from Allah, owner of the ways of ascent.

4تَعْرُجُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ إِلَيْهِ فِى يَوْمٍۢ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُۥ خَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍۢ

Translations

जिसकी तरफ फ़रिश्ते और रूहुल अमीन चढ़ते हैं (और ये) एक दिन में इतनी मुसाफ़त तय करते हैं जिसका अन्दाज़ा पचास हज़ार बरस का होगा

Ta'rujul malaaa'ikatu war Roohu ilaihi fee yawmin kaana miqdaaruhoo khamseena alfa sanah

The angels and the Spirit will ascend to Him during a Day the extent of which is fifty thousand years.

5فَٱصْبِرْ صَبْرًۭا جَمِيلًا

Translations

तो तुम अच्छी तरह इन तक़लीफों को बरदाश्त करते रहो

Fasbir ssabran jameelaa

So be patient with gracious patience.

6إِنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَهُۥ بَعِيدًۭا

Translations

वह (क़यामत) उनकी निगाह में बहुत दूर है

Inaahum yarawnahoo ba'eedaa

Indeed, they see it [as] distant,

7وَنَرَىٰهُ قَرِيبًۭا

Translations

और हमारी नज़र में नज़दीक है

Wa naraahu qareebaa

But We see it [as] near.

8يَوْمَ تَكُونُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ كَٱلْمُهْلِ

Translations

जिस दिन आसमान पिघले हुए ताँबे का सा हो जाएगा

Yawma takoonus samaaa'u kalmuhl

On the Day the sky will be like murky oil,

9وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ

Translations

और पहाड़ धुनके हुए ऊन का सा

Wa takoonul jibaalu kal'ihn

And the mountains will be like wool,

10وَلَا يَسْـَٔلُ حَمِيمٌ حَمِيمًۭا

Translations

बावजूद कि एक दूसरे को देखते होंगे

Wa laa yas'alu hameemun hameemaa

And no friend will ask [anything of] a friend,

11يُبَصَّرُونَهُمْ ۚ يَوَدُّ ٱلْمُجْرِمُ لَوْ يَفْتَدِى مِنْ عَذَابِ يَوْمِئِذٍۭ بِبَنِيهِ

Translations

कोई किसी दोस्त को न पूछेगा गुनेहगार तो आरज़ू करेगा कि काश उस दिन के अज़ाब के बदले उसके बेटों

Yubassaroonahum; ya waddul mujrimu law yaftadee min 'azaabi yawma'izim bibaneeh

They will be shown each other. The criminal will wish that he could be ransomed from the punishment of that Day by his children

12وَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦ وَأَخِيهِ

Translations

और उसकी बीवी और उसके भाई

Wa saahibatihee wa akheeh

And his wife and his brother

13وَفَصِيلَتِهِ ٱلَّتِى تُـْٔوِيهِ

Translations

और उसके कुनबे को जिसमें वह रहता था

Wa faseelathil latee tu'weeh

And his nearest kindred who shelter him

14وَمَن فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًۭا ثُمَّ يُنجِيهِ

Translations

और जितने आदमी ज़मीन पर हैं सब को ले ले और उसको छुटकारा दे दें

Wa man fil ardi jamee'an summa yunjeeh

And whoever is on earth entirely [so] then it could save him.

15كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّهَا لَظَىٰ

Translations

(मगर) ये हरगिज़ न होगा

Kallaa innahaa lazaa

No! Indeed, it is the Flame [of Hell],

16نَزَّاعَةًۭ لِّلشَّوَىٰ

Translations

जहन्नुम की वह भड़कती आग है कि खाल उधेड़ कर रख देगी

Nazzaa'atal lishshawaa

A remover of exteriors.

17تَدْعُوا۟ مَنْ أَدْبَرَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ

Translations

(और) उन लोगों को अपनी तरफ बुलाती होगी

Tad'oo man adbara wa tawallaa

It invites he who turned his back [on truth] and went away [from obedience]

18وَجَمَعَ فَأَوْعَىٰٓ

Translations

जिन्होंने (दीन से) पीठ फेरी और मुँह मोड़ा और (माल जमा किया)

W jama'a fa aw'aa

And collected [wealth] and hoarded.

19۞ إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ خُلِقَ هَلُوعًا

Translations

और बन्द कर रखा बेशक इन्सान बड़ा लालची पैदा हुआ है

Innal insaana khuliqa haloo'aa

Indeed, mankind was created anxious:

20إِذَا مَسَّهُ ٱلشَّرُّ جَزُوعًۭا

Translations

जब उसे तक़लीफ छू भी गयी तो घबरा गया

Izaa massahush sharru jazoo'aa

When evil touches him, impatient,

21وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ ٱلْخَيْرُ مَنُوعًا

Translations

और जब उसे ज़रा फराग़ी हासिल हुई तो बख़ील बन बैठा

Wa izaa massahul khairu manoo'aa

And when good touches him, withholding [of it],

22إِلَّا ٱلْمُصَلِّينَ

Translations

मगर जो लोग नमाज़ पढ़ते हैं

Illal musalleen

Except the observers of prayer -

23ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَاتِهِمْ دَآئِمُونَ

Translations

जो अपनी नमाज़ का इल्तज़ाम रखते हैं

Allazeena hum 'alaa Salaatihim daaa'imoon

Those who are constant in their prayer

24وَٱلَّذِينَ فِىٓ أَمْوَٰلِهِمْ حَقٌّۭ مَّعْلُومٌۭ

Translations

और जिनके माल में माँगने वाले और न माँगने वाले के

Wallazeena feee amwaalihim haqqum ma'loom

And those within whose wealth is a known right

25لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَٱلْمَحْرُومِ

Translations

लिए एक मुक़र्रर हिस्सा है

Lissaaa 'ili walmahroom

For the petitioner and the deprived -

26وَٱلَّذِينَ يُصَدِّقُونَ بِيَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ

Translations

और जो लोग रोज़े जज़ा की तस्दीक़ करते हैं

Wallazeena yusaddiqoona bi yawmid Deen

And those who believe in the Day of Recompense

27وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم مِّنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّهِم مُّشْفِقُونَ

Translations

और जो लोग अपने परवरदिगार के अज़ाब से डरते रहते हैं

Wallazeena hum min 'azaabi Rabbihim mushfiqoon

And those who are fearful of the punishment of their Lord -

28إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّهِمْ غَيْرُ مَأْمُونٍۢ

Translations

बेशक उनको परवरदिगार के अज़ाब से बेख़ौफ न होना चाहिए

Inna 'azaaba Rabbihim ghairu maamoon

Indeed, the punishment of their Lord is not that from which one is safe -

29وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَٰفِظُونَ

Translations

और जो लोग अपनी शर्मगाहों को अपनी बीवियों और अपनी लौन्डियों के सिवा से हिफाज़त करते हैं

Wallazeena hum lifuroo jihim haafizoon

And those who guard their private parts

30إِلَّا عَلَىٰٓ أَزْوَٰجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ

Translations

तो इन लोगों की हरगिज़ मलामत न की जाएगी

Illaa 'alaaa azwaajihim aw maa malakat aymaanuhum fainnahum ghairu maloomeen

Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they are not to be blamed -

31فَمَنِ ٱبْتَغَىٰ وَرَآءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْعَادُونَ

Translations

तो जो लोग उनके सिवा और के ख़ास्तगार हों तो यही लोग हद से बढ़ जाने वाले हैं

Famanib taghaa waraaa'a zaalika fa ulaaa'ika humul 'aadoon

But whoever seeks beyond that, then they are the transgressors -

32وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَٰنَٰتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَٰعُونَ

Translations

और जो लोग अपनी अमानतों और अहदों का लेहाज़ रखते हैं

Wallazeena hum li amaa naatihim wa 'ahdihim raa'oon

And those who are to their trusts and promises attentive

33وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِشَهَٰدَٰتِهِمْ قَآئِمُونَ

Translations

और जो लोग अपनी यहादतों पर क़ायम रहते हैं

Wallazeena hum bishahaadaatihim qaaa'imoon

And those who are in their testimonies upright

34وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَاتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ

Translations

और जो लोग अपनी नमाज़ो का ख्याल रखते हैं

Wallazeena hum 'alaa salaatihim yuhaafizoon

And those who [carefully] maintain their prayer:

35أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ فِى جَنَّٰتٍۢ مُّكْرَمُونَ

Translations

यही लोग बेहिश्त के बाग़ों में इज्ज़त से रहेंगे

Ulaaa'ika fee jannaatim mukramoon

They will be in gardens, honored.

36فَمَالِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ قِبَلَكَ مُهْطِعِينَ

Translations

तो (ऐ रसूल) काफिरों को क्या हो गया है

Famaa lil lazeena kafaroo qibalaka muhti'een

So what is [the matter] with those who disbelieve, hastening [from] before you, [O Muhammad],

37عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ ٱلشِّمَالِ عِزِينَ

Translations

कि तुम्हारे पास गिरोह गिरोह दाहिने से बाएँ से दौड़े चले आ रहे हैं

'Anil yameeni wa 'anish shimaali 'izeen

[To sit] on [your] right and [your] left in separate groups?

38أَيَطْمَعُ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍۢ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُدْخَلَ جَنَّةَ نَعِيمٍۢ

Translations

क्या इनमें से हर शख़्श इस का मुतमइनी है कि चैन के बाग़ (बेहिश्त) में दाख़िल होगा

Ayatma'u kullum ri'im minhum anyyudkhala jannata Na'eem

Does every person among them aspire to enter a garden of pleasure?

39كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُم مِّمَّا يَعْلَمُونَ

Translations

हरगिज़ नहीं हमने उनको जिस (गन्दी) चीज़ से पैदा किया ये लोग जानते हैं

Kallaaa innaa khalaq nahum mimmaa ya'lamoon

No! Indeed, We have created them from that which they know.

40فَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْمَشَٰرِقِ وَٱلْمَغَٰرِبِ إِنَّا لَقَٰدِرُونَ

Translations

तो मैं मशरिकों और मग़रिबों के परवरदिगार की क़सम खाता हूँ कि हम ज़रूर इस बात की कुदरत रखते हैं

Falaaa uqsimu bi Rabbil mashaariqi wal maghaaribi innaa laqaadiroon

So I swear by the Lord of [all] risings and settings that indeed We are able

41عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ خَيْرًۭا مِّنْهُمْ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ

Translations

कि उनके बदले उनसे बेहतर लोग ला (बसाएँ) और हम आजिज़ नहीं हैं

'Alaaa an nubaddila khairam minhum wa maa Nahnu bimasbooqeen

To replace them with better than them; and We are not to be outdone.

42فَذَرْهُمْ يَخُوضُوا۟ وَيَلْعَبُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ يُلَٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ

Translations

तो तुम उनको छोड़ दो कि बातिल में पड़े खेलते रहें यहाँ तक कि जिस दिन का उनसे वायदा किया जाता है उनके सामने आ मौजूद हो

Fazarhum yakhoodoo wa yal'aboo hattaa yulaaqoo yaw mahumul lazee yoo'adoon

So leave them to converse vainly and amuse themselves until they meet their Day which they are promised -

43يَوْمَ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ سِرَاعًۭا كَأَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ نُصُبٍۢ يُوفِضُونَ

Translations

उसी दिन ये लोग कब्रों से निकल कर इस तरह दौड़ेंगे गोया वह किसी झन्डे की तरफ दौड़े चले जाते हैं

Yawma yakhrujoona minal ajdaasi siraa'an ka anna hum ilaa nusubiny yoofidoon

The Day they will emerge from the graves rapidly as if they were, toward an erected idol, hastening.

44خَٰشِعَةً أَبْصَٰرُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌۭ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلَّذِى كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ

Translations

(निदामत से) उनकी ऑंखें झुकी होंगी उन पर रूसवाई छाई हुई होगी ये वही दिन है जिसका उनसे वायदा किया जाता था

Khaashi'atan absaaruhum tarhaquhum zillah; zaalikal yawmul lazee kaanoo yoo'adoon

Their eyes humbled, humiliation will cover them. That is the Day which they had been promised.

Surah Al-Ma'aarij (70/114)
