Surah Al-Muzzammil (73/114)

سُورَةُ المُزَّمِّلِ

सूरह Al-Muzzammil

1بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمُزَّمِّلُ

Translations

ऐ (मेरे) चादर लपेटे रसूल

Yaw ayyuhal muzzammil

O you who wraps himself [in clothing],

2قُمِ ٱلَّيْلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًۭا

Translations

रात को (नमाज़ के वास्ते) खड़े रहो मगर (पूरी रात नहीं)

Qumil laila illaa qaleelaa

Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little -

3نِّصْفَهُۥٓ أَوِ ٱنقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلِيلًا

Translations

थोड़ी रात या आधी रात या इससे भी कुछ कम कर दो या उससे कुछ बढ़ा दो

Nisfahooo awinqus minhu qaleelaa

Half of it - or subtract from it a little

4أَوْ زِدْ عَلَيْهِ وَرَتِّلِ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَرْتِيلًا

Translations

और क़ुरान को बाक़ायदा ठहर ठहर कर पढ़ा करो

Aw zid 'alaihi wa rattilil Qur'aana tarteela

Or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation.

5إِنَّا سَنُلْقِى عَلَيْكَ قَوْلًۭا ثَقِيلًا

Translations

हम अनक़रीब तुम पर एक भारी हुक्म नाज़िल करेंगे इसमें शक़ नहीं कि रात को उठना

Innaa sanulqee 'alika qawalan saqeelaa

Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word.

6إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ ٱلَّيْلِ هِىَ أَشَدُّ وَطْـًۭٔا وَأَقْوَمُ قِيلًا

Translations

ख़ूब (नफ्स का) पामाल करना और बहुत ठिकाने से ज़िक्र का वक्त है

Inn naashi'atal laili hiya ashadddu wat anw wa aqwamu qeelaa

Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words.

7إِنَّ لَكَ فِى ٱلنَّهَارِ سَبْحًۭا طَوِيلًۭا

Translations

दिन को तो तुम्हारे बहुत बड़े बड़े अशग़ाल हैं

Inna laka fin nahaari sabhan taweelaa

Indeed, for you by day is prolonged occupation.

8وَٱذْكُرِ ٱسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيلًۭا

Translations

तो तुम अपने परवरदिगार के नाम का ज़िक्र करो और सबसे टूट कर उसी के हो रहो

Wazkuris ma rabbika wa tabattal ilaihi tabteelaa

And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion.

9رَّبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَٱتَّخِذْهُ وَكِيلًۭا

Translations

(वही) मशरिक और मग़रिब का मालिक है उसके सिवा कोई माबूद नहीं तो तुम उसी को कारसाज़ बनाओ

Rabbul mashriqi wal maghriibi laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa fattakhizhu wakeelaa

[He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs.

10وَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَٱهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًۭا جَمِيلًۭا

Translations

और जो कुछ लोग बका करते हैं उस पर सब्र करो और उनसे बा उनवाने शाएस्ता अलग थलग रहो

Wasbir 'alaa maa yaqoo loona wahjurhum hajran jameelaa

And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance.

11وَذَرْنِى وَٱلْمُكَذِّبِينَ أُو۟لِى ٱلنَّعْمَةِ وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَلِيلًا

Translations

और मुझे उन झुठलाने वालों से जो दौलतमन्द हैं समझ लेने दो और उनको थोड़ी सी मोहलत दे दो

Wa zarnee walmukaz zibeena ulin na'mati wa mahhilhum qaleelaa

And leave Me with [the matter of] the deniers, those of ease [in life], and allow them respite a little.

12إِنَّ لَدَيْنَآ أَنكَالًۭا وَجَحِيمًۭا

Translations

बेशक हमारे पास बेड़ियाँ (भी) हैं और जलाने वाली आग (भी)

Inna ladainaaa ankaalanw wa jaheemaa

Indeed, with Us [for them] are shackles and burning fire

13وَطَعَامًۭا ذَا غُصَّةٍۢ وَعَذَابًا أَلِيمًۭا

Translations

और गले में फँसने वाला खाना (भी) और दुख देने वाला अज़ाब (भी)

Wa ta'aaman zaa ghussa tinw wa'azaaban aleemaa

And food that chokes and a painful punishment -

14يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَٱلْجِبَالُ وَكَانَتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَثِيبًۭا مَّهِيلًا

Translations

जिस दिन ज़मीन और पहाड़ लरज़ने लगेंगे और पहाड़ रेत के टीले से भुर भुरे हो जाएँगे

Yawma tarjuful ardu waljibaalu wa kaanatil jibaalu kaseebam maheelaa

On the Day the earth and the mountains will convulse and the mountains will become a heap of sand pouring down.

15إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْكُمْ رَسُولًۭا شَٰهِدًا عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ رَسُولًۭا

Translations

(ऐ मक्का वालों) हमने तुम्हारे पास (उसी तरह) एक रसूल (मोहम्मद) को भेजा जो तुम्हारे मामले में गवाही दे जिस तरह फिरऔन के पास एक रसूल (मूसा) को भेजा था

Innaa arsalnaaa ilaikum rasoolan shahidan 'alikum kamaaa arsalnaaa ilaa Fir'awna Rasoolna

Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness upon you just as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger.

16فَعَصَىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ ٱلرَّسُولَ فَأَخَذْنَٰهُ أَخْذًۭا وَبِيلًۭا

Translations

तो फिरऔन ने उस रसूल की नाफ़रमानी की तो हमने भी (उसकी सज़ा में) उसको बहुत सख्त पकड़ा

Fa'asaa Fir'awnur Rasoola fa akhaznaahu akhzanw wabeelaa

But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a ruinous seizure.

17فَكَيْفَ تَتَّقُونَ إِن كَفَرْتُمْ يَوْمًۭا يَجْعَلُ ٱلْوِلْدَٰنَ شِيبًا

Translations

तो अगर तुम भी न मानोगे तो उस दिन (के अज़ाब) से क्यों कर बचोगे जो बच्चों को बूढ़ा बना देगा

Fakaifa tattaqoona in kafartum yawmany yaj'alul wildaana sheeba

Then how can you fear, if you disbelieve, a Day that will make the children white- haired?

18ٱلسَّمَآءُ مُنفَطِرٌۢ بِهِۦ ۚ كَانَ وَعْدُهُۥ مَفْعُولًا

Translations

जिस दिन आसमान फट पड़ेगा (ये) उसका वायदा पूरा होकर रहेगा

Assamaaa'u munfatirum bih; kaana wa'duhoo maf'oola

The heaven will break apart therefrom; ever is His promise fulfilled.

19إِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦ تَذْكِرَةٌۭ ۖ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًا

Translations

बेशक ये नसीहत है तो जो शख़्श चाहे अपने परवरदिगार की राह एख्तेयार करे

Inna haazihee tazkiratun fa man shaaa'at takhaza ilaa Rabbihee sabeelaa

Indeed, this is a reminder, so whoever wills may take to his Lord a way.

20۞ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَقُومُ أَدْنَىٰ مِن ثُلُثَىِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَنِصْفَهُۥ وَثُلُثَهُۥ وَطَآئِفَةٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مَعَكَ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ يُقَدِّرُ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ ۚ عَلِمَ أَن لَّن تُحْصُوهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ فَٱقْرَءُوا۟ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ ٱلْقُرْءَانِ ۚ عَلِمَ أَن سَيَكُونُ مِنكُم مَّرْضَىٰ ۙ وَءَاخَرُونَ يَضْرِبُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَبْتَغُونَ مِن فَضْلِ ٱللَّهِ ۙ وَءَاخَرُونَ يُقَٰتِلُونَ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ فَٱقْرَءُوا۟ مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ ۚ وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَأَقْرِضُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًۭا ۚ وَمَا تُقَدِّمُوا۟ لِأَنفُسِكُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍۢ تَجِدُوهُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ هُوَ خَيْرًۭا وَأَعْظَمَ أَجْرًۭا ۚ وَٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ ۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۢ

Translations

(ऐ रसूल) तुम्हारा परवरदिगार चाहता है कि तुम और तुम्हारे चन्द साथ के लोग (कभी) दो तिहाई रात के करीब और (कभी) आधी रात और (कभी) तिहाई रात (नमाज़ में) खड़े रहते हो और ख़ुदा ही रात और दिन का अच्छी तरह अन्दाज़ा कर सकता है उसे मालूम है कि तुम लोग उस पर पूरी तरह से हावी नहीं हो सकते तो उसने तुम पर मेहरबानी की तो जितना आसानी से हो सके उतना (नमाज़ में) क़ुरान पढ़ लिया करो और वह जानता है कि अनक़रीब तुममें से बाज़ बीमार हो जाएँगे और बाज़ ख़ुदा के फ़ज़ल की तलाश में रूए ज़मीन पर सफर एख्तेयार करेंगे और कुछ लोग ख़ुदा की राह में जेहाद करेंगे तो जितना तुम आसानी से हो सके पढ़ लिया करो और नमाज़ पाबन्दी से पढ़ो और ज़कात देते रहो और ख़ुदा को कर्ज़े हसना दो और जो नेक अमल अपने वास्ते (ख़ुदा के सामने) पेश करोगे उसको ख़ुदा के हाँ बेहतर और सिले में बुर्ज़ुग तर पाओगे और ख़ुदा से मग़फेरत की दुआ माँगो बेशक ख़ुदा बड़ा बख्शने वाला मेहरबान है

Inna Rabbaka ya'lamu annaka taqoomu adnaa min sulusa yil laili wa nisfahoo wa sulusahoo wa taaa'ifatum minal lazeena ma'ak; wal laahu yuqaddirul laila wanna haar; 'alima al lan tuhsoohu fataaba 'alaikum faqra'oo maa tayassara minal quraan; 'alima an sa yakoonu minkum mardaa wa aakharoona yadriboona fil ardi yabtaghoona min fadlil laahi wa aakharoona yuqaatiloona fee sabeelil laahi faqra'oo ma tayassara minhu wa aqeemus salaata wa aatuz zakaata wa aqridul laaha qardan hasanaa; wa maa tuqadimoo li anfusikum min khairin tajidoohu 'indal laahi huwa khayranw wa a'zama ajraa; wastaghfirul laahaa innal laaha ghafoorur raheem.

Indeed, your Lord knows, [O Muhammad], that you stand [in prayer] almost two thirds of the night or half of it or a third of it, and [so do] a group of those with you. And Allah determines [the extent of] the night and the day. He has known that you [Muslims] will not be able to do it and has turned to you in forgiveness, so recite what is easy [for you] of the Qur'an. He has known that there will be among you those who are ill and others traveling throughout the land seeking [something] of the bounty of Allah and others fighting for the cause of Allah. So recite what is easy from it and establish prayer and give zakah and loan Allah a goodly loan. And whatever good you put forward for yourselves - you will find it with Allah. It is better and greater in reward. And seek forgiveness of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
