1بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِهَٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ

Translations

मुझे इस शहर (मक्का) की कसम

Laaa uqsimu bihaazal balad

I swear by this city, Makkah -

2وَأَنتَ حِلٌّۢ بِهَٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدِ

Translations

और तुम इसी शहर में तो रहते हो

Wa anta hillum bihaazal balad

And you, [O Muhammad], are free of restriction in this city -

3وَوَالِدٍۢ وَمَا وَلَدَ

Translations

और (तुम्हारे) बाप (आदम) और उसकी औलाद की क़सम

Wa waalidinw wa maa walad

And [by] the father and that which was born [of him],

4لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ فِى كَبَدٍ

Translations

हमने इन्सान को मशक्क़त में (रहने वाला) पैदा किया है

Laqad khalaqnal insaana fee kabad

We have certainly created man into hardship.

5أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّن يَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ أَحَدٌۭ

Translations

क्या वह ये समझता है कि उस पर कोई काबू न पा सकेगा

Ayahsabu al-lai yaqdira 'alaihi ahad

Does he think that never will anyone overcome him?

6يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًۭا لُّبَدًا

Translations

वह कहता है कि मैने अलग़ारों माल उड़ा दिया

Yaqoolu ahlaktu maalal lubadaa

He says, "I have spent wealth in abundance."

7أَيَحْسَبُ أَن لَّمْ يَرَهُۥٓ أَحَدٌ

Translations

क्या वह ये ख्याल रखता है कि उसको किसी ने देखा ही नहीं

Ayahsabu al lam yarahooo ahad

Does he think that no one has seen him?

8أَلَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ عَيْنَيْنِ

Translations

क्या हमने उसे दोनों ऑंखें और ज़बान

Alam naj'al lahoo 'aynayn

Have We not made for him two eyes?

9وَلِسَانًۭا وَشَفَتَيْنِ

Translations

और दोनों लब नहीं दिए (ज़रूर दिए)

Wa lisaananw wa shafatayn

And a tongue and two lips?

10وَهَدَيْنَٰهُ ٱلنَّجْدَيْنِ

Translations

और उसको (अच्छी बुरी) दोनों राहें भी दिखा दीं

Wa hadaynaahun najdayn

And have shown him the two ways?

11فَلَا ٱقْتَحَمَ ٱلْعَقَبَةَ

Translations

फिर वह घाटी पर से होकर (क्यों) नहीं गुज़रा

Falaq tahamal-'aqabah

But he has not broken through the difficult pass.

12وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْعَقَبَةُ

Translations

और तुमको क्या मालूम कि घाटी क्या है

Wa maaa adraaka mal'aqabah

And what can make you know what is [breaking through] the difficult pass?

13فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍ

Translations

किसी (की) गर्दन का (गुलामी या कर्ज से) छुड़ाना

Fakku raqabah

It is the freeing of a slave

14أَوْ إِطْعَٰمٌۭ فِى يَوْمٍۢ ذِى مَسْغَبَةٍۢ

Translations

या भूख के दिन रिश्तेदार यतीम या ख़ाकसार

Aw it'aamun fee yawmin zee masghabah

Or feeding on a day of severe hunger

15يَتِيمًۭا ذَا مَقْرَبَةٍ

Translations

मोहताज को

Yateeman zaa maqrabah

An orphan of near relationship

16أَوْ مِسْكِينًۭا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍۢ

Translations

खाना खिलाना

Aw miskeenan zaa matrabah

Or a needy person in misery

17ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِٱلْمَرْحَمَةِ

Translations

फिर तो उन लोगों में (शामिल) हो जाता जो ईमान लाए और सब्र की नसीहत और तरस खाने की वसीयत करते रहे

Summa kaana minal lazeena aamanoo wa tawaasaw bissabri wa tawaasaw bilmarhamah

And then being among those who believed and advised one another to patience and advised one another to compassion.

18أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَيْمَنَةِ

Translations

यही लोग ख़ुश नसीब हैं

Ulaaa'ika As-haabul maimanah

Those are the companions of the right.

19وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا هُمْ أَصْحَٰبُ ٱلْمَشْـَٔمَةِ

Translations

और जिन लोगों ने हमारी आयतों से इन्कार किया है यही लोग बदबख्त हैं

Wallazeena kafaroo bi aayaatinaa hum as-haabul Mash'amah

But they who disbelieved in Our signs - those are the companions of the left.

20عَلَيْهِمْ نَارٌۭ مُّؤْصَدَةٌۢ

Translations

कि उनको आग में डाल कर हर तरफ से बन्द कर दिया जाएगा

Alaihim naarum mu'sadah

Over them will be fire closed in.
